Press release: DAVA Foods acquires Norwegian company

09 February 2016

DAVA Foods, a subsidiary of the Danish Agro group and a market leader in Nordic fresh eggs business, has acquired 70.3 % of the shares in the company Eggprodukter AS in Norway.

Eggprodukter AS processes and sells pasteurised and boiled egg products for the Norwegian market and has a market share of 15–20 % in this area. In 2015, the company had a turnover of 5.5 million EUR and realised a positive profit.

Group CEO in DAVA Foods, Ivan Noes Jørgensen, explains the reasons behind the acquisition:

- We were already highly active in the Nordic countries, having seven companies in five countries, and now the acquisition of Eggprodukter AS gives us access to the interesting Norwegian market. The company is a smaller, modern business that has clearly been excellently run. Combining these assets with the product know-how and synergies we bring to the table, we expect the company to realise considerable organic growth, he says and continues:

- Within a year, we expect be ready to introduce some of our pasteurised products to the Norwegian market, such as our new protein drinks range WhiteTM, he says.

Norwegian manager Rune Hennum will head the company. Rune Hennum has worked within the poultry and egg business for 16 years and has in-depth knowledge of the market. Ivan Noes Jørgensen will become chairman of the board in the company.
