DAVA Foods Finland acquires majority of shares in Närpes Äggpackeri
DAVA Foods Finland Oy has acquired majority of shares in Närpes Äggpackeri Ab, an egg packing company operating in the city of Närpes, Ostrobothnia area in Finland.
Närpes Äggpackeri was founded in 2000, and DAVA Foods and Närpes Äggpackeri have been co-operating for years. Currently about 75 % of Närpes Äggpackeri’s volume consists of DAVA Foods products. Thanks to its central location in Ostrobothnia egg production community, the packing community is able to handle the DAVA Foods’ supply chain very well.
DAVA Foods has owned a minority of shares in Närpes Äggpackeri for years. Due to the close cooperation, the parties find it to be perfect timing for DAVA Foods to acquire the majority share. “We at DAVA Foods believe that we have a good opportunity to develop producing and packing eggs in the Ostrobothnia Area. Our objective for the majority acquisition was to ensure and confirm the good cooperation. As DAVA Foods business represents majority of Närpes Äggpackeri’s volume, we see this as an important strategic investment decision to ensure the synergies between the two companies”, says Juha-Petri Jokinen, CEO of DAVA Foods Finland.
The CEO of Närpes Äggpackeri Ab, Johnny Grandell, is an experienced professional in the egg industry. He will continue in the company as before. “I am really pleased that DAVA Foods is committed to develop the business in the Närpes area”, says Grandell.
